After achieving success in the OPSI and IYSIF 2018 research competitions, SMA Averos once again made a remarkable achievement in the 2019 History Audiovisual Competition organized by the Directorate of History, Directorate General of Culture, Ministry of Education and Culture. Representing West Papua, Rizki Fitrah Rahmani Saleh and M. Ersya Syaifulloh Alhamid became finalists in Kendari, Southeast Sulawesi.

The History Audiovisual Creation Competition is an audiovisual competition that highlights the history and culture of local communities around the participants. The competition aims to encourage students to actively seek historical sources available in their surroundings, such as local historical events, historical places, historical buildings, local figures/actors, and historical witnesses/independence fighters. The historical sources they obtain are then presented in the form of audiovisual creations.
