Averos once again surprises by winning the Special Award at the National Young Inventor Award (NYIA) 2021 for their innovation, the "Muslim Prayer Guide," which was developed to facilitate the worship of the hearing impaired.
Salsabila Gracia Anastasia and Ramadena Pathurahman, students from Averos, created a vibrating wristwatch that allows the wearer to follow the movements of the imam during congregational prayer. This enables the hearing impaired to participate in the prayer without relying on visual cues from the imam or other congregants.
The main feature of this wristwatch is its ability to connect within a radius of 1km, allowing the imam and hearing-impaired congregants to coordinate their movements during congregational prayer. As the imam moves, the wristwatch will vibrate as a signal for the change in prayer position.
"This innovation is a smart and sensitive solution designed to facilitate the worship of the hearing impaired," said David Piter Reymond Luhukay, S.Si, the accompanying teacher who has supported and guided Salsabila and Ramadena in developing this project.
